Optical Consultant/Receptionist

At our independent optometry group, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and helping others see the world more clearly. We are currently seeking a friendly and outgoing individual to join our team as an optical consultant/receptionist.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet and greet patients with a smile and provide a warm welcome
  • Assist patients in selecting appropriate frames and sunglasses, considering their visual needs, prescription requirements, and personal style preferences
  • Provide professional advice and recommendations on lens options to optimise vision and enhance the overall eyewear experience
  • Conduct frame adjustments, repairs, and minor maintenance, ensuring optimal fit and comfort for patients
  • Place and track orders for lenses, frames, and other eyewear accessories, coordinating with external suppliers and maintaining inventory control
  • Collaborate effectively with the optometrists, support staff, and other team members to ensure seamless patient care and satisfaction
Requirements:
  • Previous optical experience is required
  • Previous experience as receptionist or customer service/retail assistant ideal but not essential
  • A commitment to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a positive and friendly demeanour
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with patients of all ages and backgrounds
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  • Enjoys the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment and is able to remain calm under pressure
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Good computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
