Urban Place Strategy Manager

Our department creates thriving places and connected communities. We bring together transport, planning, land use, precinct and policy functions in a single department to deliver the best outcomes for Victorians.
This role provides strategic oversight of urban development strategies, including implementation plans, policies, infrastructure funding, placemaking activities, and investment attraction. You will advise government, industry, and community stakeholders on planning policy and implementation, using data analytics to inform decision-making.
As a senior leader, you will lead complex negotiations with internal and external stakeholders to influence outcomes and achieve project objectives. As part of the management team, you will contribute to governance, resource allocation, and priority project delivery while building staff capability and fostering a positive, collaborative culture.
- Bachelor degree or higher in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Project Management, Development or Engineering (mandatory).
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Victorian planning system, particularly statutory planning framework, relevant legislation, and local government practices (mandatory).
