Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

We are part of the largest computer vision and machine learning research group in Australia, boasting over 180 members. Our team collaborates on fundamental and commercially oriented projects in computer vision and machine learning.

To excel in this role, you will require:

  • A PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Programming proficiency in Python, C++, or relevant languages, alongside experience in deep neural networks
  • Strong mathematical foundation, particularly for Theme 1, with applicants holding an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in mathematics encouraged to apply
  • Experience and knowledge in deep learning, transformer networks, implicit neural functions, graph neural networks, probabilistic graphical models, and causal inference
  • An outstanding publication record in top-tier machine learning and/or computer vision conferences or journals, commensurate with experience and opportunity
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a broader team, including with industrial, educational, and community partners
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, with the capacity to communicate complex ideas to an expert audience
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion principles, with applications from underrepresented groups within the Responsible AI community encouraged
