The company offers a permanent role with a base salary of $115k to $125k plus superannuation and bonus potential. This is an excellent opportunity for a high-calibre External Auditor to join the Finance team in this end-to-end Financial Accountant role.

About the Role:

This is a broad and high-profile Senior Financial Accountant position that provides the opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of responsibilities and projects in this end-to-end role, making a real impact on the business.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the timely completion of month-end close, balance sheet reconciliation, year-end and half-year financial statement preparation.
  • Preparing the Group consolidation and elimination entries.
  • Investigating variances.
  • Assisting with APRA reporting.
  • Reconciling loan transactions to the bank.
  • Assisting in the preparation of BAS, FBT and Income Tax returns.
  • Preparing tax effect accounting for the Group.
  • Managing relationships with external auditors.
  • Researching and preparing technical accounting papers, including credit losses and revenue.
  • Working closely with various AASB accounting standards.
  • Implementing process improvements and projects.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must be:

  • CA/CPA qualified.
  • Holding 3-6 years of experience working in External Audit within a BIG 4/Mid-Tier Professional Services CA Firm or a similar Senior Financial Accountant role within a Group Finance team.
  • Familiar with various AASB standards.
  • Able to work with technical accounting papers.
  • Possessing strong tax background and internal controls knowledge.
  • Confident in communicating with senior stakeholders.
  • Detailed-oriented, hands-on approach, can-do attitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enjoying working in a collaborative environment.
  • Adept at using advanced Excel skills (ability to build pivots, v-lookups and complex formulas).
