Occupational Therapy Specialist for Aboriginal Australian Community

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to join our team in Alice Springs. As an Occupational Therapy Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing safe and effective physiotherapy services to clients within the Central Australian community.
The successful candidate will have excellent clinical skills and a strong understanding of cultural safety principles. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans that address the physical, social, and emotional needs of clients.
This is a part-time position (0.8 FTE) with a maximum term of 6 months. The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to work in a variety of clinical and community settings, including remote locations.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality physiotherapy services to clients across multiple funding streams, including NDIS and CHSP.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement client-centered treatment plans.
- Foster self-determination and empowerment among clients and their families, promoting choice and control over service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting, adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
- Current registration as a Physiotherapist with the relevant state or territory regulatory body.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and/or in rural or remote areas.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain).
- Competitive salary range: $102,472 - $114,757 per annum (base salary), plus district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, and estimated tax savings from salary packaging options.
