Junior Development Coach Role

We are seeking a skilled Junior Development Coach to join our team on a casual basis for 20-30 hours per week, with potential for full-time employment. The role will be based at the Colmslie Aquatic Centre.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to join the coaching team in an organisation committed to developing the sport and supporting performance pathways.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement programs for junior squad swimmers, providing a holistic approach to swimming with a strong understanding of physiological and psychological needs for swimmer development.
  • Work closely with the Head Coach and coaching team to achieve shared goals.
  • Encourage and support transitions between Learn To Swim and Squad Programs.
  • Assist in organising and running club racing events.
  • Attend and encourage swimmers to attend club nights and promote joining competitions.
  • Form relationships with the community, parents, and children within the centre.
  • Willingsness and ability to coach across all groups, including Adult/Masters.
  • Attend local and national meets.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in coaching junior swimmers is essential.
  • Development Coach accreditation is required.
  • A current Blue Card and CPR certification are mandatory.
