Excitement in the Engineering Team

The Engineering team at Codan is responsible for converting raw ideas into products that exceed customer expectations. This involves rapid concept prototyping, architecting, detailed design, product integration, and transitioning to manufacturing. We are looking for a talented individual to lead our product development team and drive the metal detector product definition, systems, delivery, and technical management of the project.

About The Role

As a Senior Engineering Lead, you will report to the Systems Engineering Manager and lead a product development team alongside the Project Manager. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clear direction to the project team on milestones and timelines.
  • Managing the systems development process to ensure engineering requirements are communicated and verified.
  • Coordinating the development of prototypes and tests to evaluate the product in accordance with engineering requirements.
  • Providing sufficient external field-testing coverage to validate and verify the product during development.
  • Managing internal relationships with Domain Leads, Marketing Team, and external relationships with customers, suppliers, sub-contractors, and sales representatives.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (electronics, software, mechanical, electrical).
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary engineering environments.
  • Experience in all aspects of the Systems Development Lifecycle.
  • Proven experience working in a senior engineering role.
  • Experience in consumer product engineering and product realization environments, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong analytical and proactive problem-solving skills to make decisive decisions that advance projects.
  • Able to supervise, mentor, and coach engineering staff and cross-functional teams to achieve targets and inspire individual commitment.
  • Able to negotiate with and influence internal and/or external stakeholders to generate business benefit while maintaining key relationships.
  • Confluence and Jira experience would be highly regarded.
