Senior Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled senior structural engineer to take on a key leadership position within our team in Melbourne. As a proven engineer with technical expertise and strong people management skills, this role requires a candidate who can effectively manage projects, coordinate and mentor the team, prepare and submit project tenders, manage project budgets, sign off and deliver project design and documentation, and undertake site investigation and supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Technical management of projects including commercial, residential, institutional and industrial buildings
- Coordination and mentoring of the engineering team
- Preparation and submission of project tenders and proposals
- Management of project budgets and financial planning
- Sign off and delivery of project design and documentation including building plans and reports
- Site investigation and supervision including conducting site visits and managing site activities
The ideal candidate will have a recognised degree in engineering, CPEng and PE(Vic) qualifications, and circa 12+ years of experience working in a consulting environment. They will also have extensive experience in the design and analysis of medium to large scale commercial, residential, institutional and industrial buildings.
Required Skills and Qualifications- A recognised degree in engineering with relevant specialisation
- CPEng and PE(Vic) certification
- Circa 12+ years of experience in consulting with a focus on structural engineering
- Extensive experience in building design and analysis including medium to large scale commercial, residential, institutional and industrial buildings
- Sound knowledge of Australian Building Standards and Codes
- Proven people management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team
- Previous experience in key client management and business development
