About the Role

">

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically competent Safety Advisor to join our national safety team. In this role, you will be a key influencer in driving our safety culture with our Branch Managers and Heads of Departments within NSW and QLD. You will support the development, implementation, and ongoing execution of safety initiatives, compliance, and workers compensation.

This exciting opportunity allows you to work with a diverse range of stakeholders, including operational teams, managers, and supervisors, to ensure a safe working environment. Your expertise in hazard identification, risk assessment, and control will be invaluable in developing and implementing effective safety strategies.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide key support in the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of safety policies, management plans, and associated procedures.
  • Worker's compensation and return-to-work management.
  • Hazard ID, risk assessment, and control.
  • Incident investigation, reporting, and analysis.
  • Actively train and coach site operational management teams.
  • Provide expert advice and practical solutions to operations teams to ensure safety compliance.
  • Regularly participate in toolboxes, pre-starts, and safety initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise and influence key stakeholders at operational and management levels.
  • Ability to guide and coach managers, supervisors, and operational teams.
  • Formal WHS qualifications (minimum Cert IV in Work Health & Safety).
  • Solid working knowledge of WHS codes of practice, standards, and their requirements.
  • Experience in hazard identification, risk management, and incident investigation.
  • Demonstrated success in coordinating and leading effective WHS initiatives.
  • Great interpersonal skills, together with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with the Workers' Compensation and Injury Management Act and a working knowledge of injury management procedures, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent reporting, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Australian safety standards.

Estimated Salary: AU$85,000 - AU$110,000 per annum
