About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Pathologist to join our Clinical Team in a Residential Aged Care setting. As part of our commitment to Healthy Ageing, this role will involve providing high-quality assessment and therapy services to support the intrinsic capacity and functional ability of our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Being an active member of a multi-disciplinary care team that achieves outstanding customer outcomes
- Provision of high-quality assessment and therapy services
- Leadership within the Early Intervention Working Party, including case conferencing and problem-solving of complex care needs
- Supporting residents on Recovery Pathways to bounce back from decline
- Participating in the teaching and learning of speech pathology requirements to staff and healthcare students
Requirements:
- A Bachelor or Master Degree in Speech Pathology or relevant Allied Health discipline
- Membership with Speech Pathology Australia and the Professional Self-Regulation Program
- Knowledge and ability to competently apply current speech pathology theory to provide holistic patient care
- Ability to plan and coordinate clinical patient care
- Ability to make sound decisions and accept responsibility for own practice
- Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Quality Improvement process
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to speech pathology practice
- Applicants with recent experience in a residential aged care environment will be highly regarded
