PSP is seeking a motivated Economic Development Specialist to join a local council in the North West to help drive growth and sustainability in the region on a contract basis.
**Role Overview:**
- Drive Business Growth: Promote local business expansion, create job opportunities, and strengthen partnerships with stakeholders including government agencies, businesses, and community organizations.
- Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate on designing and implementing business development strategies, focusing on tourism and investment attraction.
- Market Research & Insights: Use economic tools to gather and analyze data, offering insights to inform strategies and present findings to stakeholders.
- Project Support & Collaboration: Provide project management for business development projects and work with the Community Engagement Officer to enhance community outreach.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience in business development, market engagement, or a related field. Event management experience is an asset.
- Skills: Strong research and data analysis abilities, proficiency with economic tools such as Remplan, and effective communication skills.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work with various stakeholders, including government agencies, businesses, and community organizations.
- Project Management: Experience in managing projects and implementing strategies.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to a flexible work environment with fewer in-person hours.
- Documentation: Competence in preparing reports, memos, and briefing notes.
- Events & Festivals experience a plus
