Job Description

The Legal and Company Secretarial Team seeks a skilled lawyer to provide advice across several areas of practice.

This role involves:

  • All aspects of the legal function as required to support the business and any related entities.
  • Providing expert and strategic legal advice to the business on commercial agreements, technology agreements, M&A, policies, corporate structures, and franchising law issues.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts for all areas of the business that mitigate legal risk while facilitating commercial outcomes.
  • Delivering outcomes to budget, reducing the reliance on external legal counsel, and embedding an effective procurement and contract management process.
  • Advising, taking carriage of, and reporting on significant regulatory issues and developing appropriate risk mitigation strategies, policies, and processes.
  • Remaining abreast of legislative changes and developments and providing training and information updates to the business as required.
  • Advising on commercial disputes, managing litigation matters for the business, and instructing external counsel as required.
  • Operating with a high degree of professional ethics and integrity.
  • Liaising as required with external parties (brokers, lenders, external counsel).
