About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to provide exceptional care and support to our donors. This is a rewarding role where you will bring excellent customer-facing skills and a genuine passion to deliver an outstanding service.

As a Patient Care Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting our donors through their donation process. You will greet and interview potential donors, assess their eligibility and suitability to donate, create a positive donor experience, and monitor donors post-donation.

The ideal candidate will have a real passion to deliver an exceptional donor experience and be comfortable with needles and blood/biological materials. They will also need to be flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, including weekends and afternoon shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and interview potential donors to assess their eligibility and suitability to donate
  • Create a donor experience they'll love—and want to come back
  • Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
  • Set up machines and collections equipment
  • Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
  • Monitor donors post-donation and assist them with rebooking their next donation

Requirements:
  • Be comfortable with needles and blood/biological materials
  • Occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs
  • Support and foster a fantastic team culture
  • Frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
