The School of Nursing and Midwifery has a rich history in midwifery education, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs that foster lifelong learning. Our goal is to improve community health and wellbeing by producing outstanding graduates and research outcomes.
The School is recognised nationally and internationally for its research, with two highly regarded research centres: The Judith Lumley Centre and the Australian Institute of Primary Care and Ageing. These centres play a strong role in our research success and impact.
We are seeking a Level B academic with expertise in contemporary midwifery practice and facilitating education. The successful candidate will make a significant contribution to the research reputation of the midwifery discipline, engage with local hospital partners, and undertake research resulting in publications with leading publishers.
Key Responsibilities:- Developing and delivering high-quality teaching and curriculum in midwifery and related areas
- Conducting high-quality research and publishing findings
- Supervising honours and postgraduate students in midwifery research
- A PhD or equivalent accreditation in midwifery or a related field
- Registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA
- Demonstrated competence in teaching and curriculum development
- High-quality research experience in midwifery
