Job Description

As a Software Engineer – Intermediate, you will be responsible for developing quality software products and dealing with service requests from customers by actively contributing and collaborating with team members and other developers. You will facilitate and provide high-quality innovative solutions for the benefit of your customers.

The successful delivery of software from your team to customers is crucial to this role. Your ability to take on multiple tasks within your group and acquire product and technical knowledge necessary to deliver your contributions will be reflected in your success.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyzing customer requests and producing solution artefacts and estimates for internal review
  • Peer reviewing solution artefacts and developing, maintaining, deploying, and supporting software developed
  • Producing relevant documentation to assist with knowledge transfer and participating in planning, stand-ups, estimation, retrospectives, and backlog grooming as part of a self-organising, multi-disciplined team
  • Providing internal/external customer training and support and taking responsibility for ensuring standards and procedures are followed
  • Identifying and highlighting relevant risk and providing resolution recommendations
  • Assisting with pre-sales activity as required and performing basic network & database tasks
  • Identifying and articulating improvements to product and ways of working
  • Communicating to customers in all communication channels and providing advice to customers on the best use of Gentrack products
  • Working as part of an integrated business team to achieve the best business solutions and building and strengthening customer relationships
  • Promotion of benefits of system to existing and new customers and making customers and their needs a primary focus of your actions
  • Being pro-active and accountable for adding value for customers and abiding to Compliance Policies and Procedures of the Company
Required Skills and Qualifications

3+ years commercial software development experience with strong understanding of agile SDLC and good working knowledge of relevant technologies and concepts including Object Oriented Design, Enterprise Database, AWS, GIT, Web Services, CRM, Utilities industry, SDLC and Agile Methodologies

Good relationship management and interpersonal skills with ability to give and receive positive and constructive feedback

Ability to creatively solve problems and think outside the box

Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or comparable professional development and commercial experience
