About the Role

Amentum is a leading provider of mission-critical services and solutions to the government and private sectors. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Systems Specialist to join our team in Alice Springs.

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong background in fire safety and protection to work with a talented team of experts. As a Fire Alarm Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for the efficient and timely completion of fire system maintenance tasks, identification of deficiencies and repairs as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, test, and maintain fire systems and associated infrastructure in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Repair and install associated fire systems and infrastructure.
  • Program Notifier systems.
  • Work with operational and maintenance personnel to coordinate life safety system impairments as required for repairs, maintenance, and new installations.
  • Maintain a complete and current working understanding of all relevant facilities infrastructure, equipment, and systems.
  • Inspect fire extinguishers.
  • Instruct and train site incident response personnel in the operation of life safety systems as it applies to their duties.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as requested.
Requirements
  • NICET II or III – Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Strong understanding of Work Health Safety (WHS) Act, and EHS policies & procedures.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience working within Facility Maintenance or similar technical environment.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of technical terminology relating to Electrical infrastructure and electronic equipment.
  • Strong understanding of facilities equipment and functionality.
  • Strong understanding of facilities O&M requirements.
  • Strong understanding of equipment maintenance requirements (preventive, predictive, & corrective).
Desirable Qualifications
  • NICET I or II - Fire Special Hazards.
  • NICET I or II - Inspection and Testing of Water Based Systems.
  • Experience with Notifier systems.
Experience
  • 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with diverse range of fire systems and suppression equipment highly regarded.
Physical Requirements
  • Personnel are required to be medically fit to work and safely complete all physical tasks associated with the role in which they are employed. This includes but is not limited to being able to carry and control moderate to heavy loads and being able to safely traverse and access maintenance environments which may be uneven or cramped.
Security Clearance Requirement

It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. US employees will require a TS/SCI clearance with poly.

EHS Requirement

All OASIS personnel are responsible for understanding and complying with all site's environmental, health and safety requirements. Each person is responsible for:

  • Completing work tasks in a safe manner.
  • Reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to their supervisor and/or OASIS PMO/EHS Manager.
  • Continuous adherence to the environmental, health and safety procedures outlined in the Handbook during the performance of their work.
  • Red-Carding a Job - Employee right and responsibility to 'STOP WORK' if a job is unsafe or poses a danger to the environment.
