Job Title: Midwifery Care Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Midwifery Care Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, woman-centred care to women with low-risk pregnancies.

This is a critical frontline role that involves working autonomously and collaboratively within a small group practice to provide continuity of care for women. You will be responsible for coordinating complex care presentations and referring to appropriate specialists as needed.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment. They will also have the ability to think critically and make sound decisions in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide midwifery care during pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postnatal period.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide seamless care to women.
  • Coordinate complex care presentations and refer to appropriate specialists as needed.
  • Provide home visits and support early discharge where postnatal care is delivered in the home setting.
  • Participate in on-call duties and a seven-day roster.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Midwifery or related field.
  • Current registration with the relevant professional body.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • High level of physical fitness.
