About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diamond Driller to lead our drilling team at McKay Drilling. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the drill crew, ensuring safe and efficient drilling practices, and maintaining a high level of core recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a team of drillers and drill assistants to achieve optimal drilling performance and safety standards.
- Develop and implement drilling plans and strategies to meet client requirements and project objectives.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the drilling team to identify and implement process improvements and innovations.
- Provide guidance and training to junior drillers and assistants to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Monitor and report on drilling performance, including core recovery rates, drilling times, and equipment maintenance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Diamond Driller with a proven track record of success.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and implement solutions to complex drilling challenges.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on safety and quality.
- Valid HR Driver's License and National Police Clearance.
