About the Role
As a SHEQ Advisor at Ventia, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees and the communities we serve. Your primary responsibility will be to provide specialized guidance and support to our business units to achieve excellence in Health & Safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessments to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and coordinate Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems to drive business performance and compliance.
- Provide expert advice and information on Health & Safety Compliance within a risk management framework to support regulatory, contractual, and company requirements.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor and improve performance and compliance in the field, providing coaching and mentoring to operational staff as needed.
Requirements
- Hold a certification in Health and Safety or Risk Management, or have extensive demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in Health & Safety.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with experience in managing stakeholders at various levels regarding Health & Safety.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to create effective Health & Safety initiatives.
- Proven technical experience in power systems, overhead distribution, or transmission is desirable but not essential.
- Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Distribution Overhead (UET30619) or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
