Job Title: Security Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Security Officer.

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment within our hospital facilities and grounds. This involves enforcing policies and procedures, as well as applicable local and state laws.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to prevent and detect potential security threats.
  • Enforce hospital rules and regulations, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and codes.
  • Maintain current certification in firearms and conducted electrical weapons.
  • Provide excellent customer service to visitors, staff, patients, and law enforcement representatives.
  • Respond effectively to incidents, utilizing empathy and compassion when interacting with individuals.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Successful completion of the OPOTA Private Security academy and/or OPOTA 20 Hour Private Security Firearms Certification or OPOTA Basic Police Academy is necessary.
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years old at the time of hire.
  • The ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including running, walking, and restraining others, is essential.
  • Exposure to inclement weather is also expected.
