About the Role

The Clinical Nurse Manager After Hours will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and professional consultancy to after-hours nursing staff within Derby Hospital. This role involves planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating all work arrangements and functions that fall under their jurisdiction to ensure a high level and quality of patient care is delivered at Derby Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff
  • Coordinating after-hours nursing services and ensuring adequate staffing levels
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports related to patient care and service delivery
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and coordination of care
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and implementing changes to improve patient outcomes

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified registered nurse with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Proven experience in nursing leadership or management, preferably in an after-hours setting
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance principles and standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly
