About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Youth Access Clinician to join our team and support young people in Ashfield, NSW. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in developing strong relationships with young people, families, and local services.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills, be able to work independently, and possess strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

You will also have a sound understanding of privacy legislation, informed consent, confidentiality, and mandatory reporting guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strong working relationships with young people, family, friends, and local services
  • Carry out assessments, case planning, therapeutic brief interventions, and care coordination for young people and their families
  • Co-facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic group programs
  • Support young people to access necessary services through consultation care plans
  • Exercise initiative and judgement to improve the experience of young people and service offerings
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Degree in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, or nursing with registration (if necessary)
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks
  • Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of youth health issues and their impact on young people
  • Demonstrated experience in mental health assessment, psychoeducation, and therapeutic brief interventions
  • Awareness of different cultural contexts and ability to deliver culturally sensitive services
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Sound understanding of privacy legislation and principles
