We are seeking a skilled Project Metallurgist to join our team. This permanent residential opportunity will have you working Monday to Friday.

Your New Role

In this position, you will report directly to the Group Technical Services Manager and be an integral part of the Technical Service department. Your key responsibilities include researching new technologies for process improvement, conducting and reviewing studies to identify the best technologies for the refinery, and striving for best practice through actively seeking information from internal and external sources. You will also encourage creative thinking and contribute to the development of new processes and optimisation of existing ones.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide support to operations teams with troubleshooting and technical development.
• Identify improvement opportunities throughout operating plants.
• Provide technical support required by operations.
• Develop and conduct test work programs and assist in the development of test pilot plants.
• Assist in the development of mass and water balances.
• Ensure compliance with project guidelines.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement with projects.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Tertiary qualifications in Process Engineering or Extractive Metallurgy.
• Previous experience in process improvement and test work.
• Previous experience with flowsheet development.
• Experience commissioning new processes or plants.
• A current manual driver's licence.
• High levels of motivation and ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent leadership, team building, communication, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the mineral sands or mineral processing industry.
