Senior Quarry Operations Manager

This position is a mid-senior level leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire quarry operation, focusing on safety, environment, plant and equipment to achieve annual financial targets while delivering on customer requirements and execution outcomes.

• Lead a team and bring them along the journey to successfully achieve goals by setting clear objectives, providing guidance, and empowering team members to take ownership of their work.
• Make strategic business decisions that impact the overall performance of the business, including achieving agreed targets/KPIs, financial planning, budgeting, and managing costs within allocated resources.
• Manage day-to-day operations, responsible for quarry development, storm water and environmental management, and preventative maintenance schedules to ensure continuous improvement in operational efficiency.
• Promote a culture of rehabilitation and maintain a reputation within the industry as a responsible and sustainable partner in the community by upholding high standards of ethics and social responsibility.
• Bring a strong safety mindset and manage high-risk activities, reducing risk exposure for self and others through proactive measures and incident response planning.

• You have a strong safety mindset with a total commitment to risk management and zero harm, demonstrated through previous experience in handling hazardous situations and promoting a safety-first culture.
• Have a minimum of 5 years of quarry management experience in a hard rock quarry, with a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Hold relevant qualifications/notices to meet current requirements under the Mining & Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999 (or able to obtain one by meeting the criteria), ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Diploma in Extractive Industries or relevant tertiary qualifications (Mining, Geology, Engineering, Construction, or similar) and a Shot Firers ticket are desirable, showcasing expertise in a specific area.
• An ability to support continuous improvement across the supply chain process to establish good performance through insight and innovative planning, driving growth and excellence in all aspects of the business.
• A strong leadership mentality with a demonstrated track record in delivering transformational change within a complex business environment, inspiring teams to achieve exceptional results.
