Wireless Network Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team and help maintain seamless connectivity across our mining operations.

The primary emphasis is on wireless network (radio) access technologies supporting OT/IoT applications.

You will be a subject-matter expert coordinating with third-party wireless providers for installation, support, and assessment of new technologies.

• Reporting to the Wireless Lead to ensure day-to-day wireless needs are addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Providing general oversight of wireless vendors for device MACDs.
• Assisting and/or coordinating major wireless growth activities with business users and vendors.
• Being a technical escalation point for incidents/requests between internal business customers and telecom wireless providers and equipment vendors.
• Participating in integration, testing, and commissioning with 3rd party wireless solutions.
• Analysing, configuring network hardware, software, and services to optimise wireless network performance.
• Assisting the Enterprise Network (Cisco) engineers with basic troubleshooting, switch setup, and field support.

• Certificate IV in Communications or Electrical Trade.
• Minimum of 5 years in a similar role, with LTE, VHF/UHF expertise.
• Experience in Cisco wireless networks would be desirable.
• Previous experience in mining operations is ESSENTIAL.
• Cisco CCNA would be desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Current Driver's licence.
