Part-time Disability Accommodation Officer

Care services are available for people with disabilities. We provide support and assistance in various settings.

We are looking for a part-time Disability Accommodation Officer to work with our team.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations and supporting individuals with disabilities in their homes or other settings.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong relationships with customers, their families, and stakeholders;
  • Supervise and support team members to ensure efficient daily operations;
  • Handle customer inquiries and conduct intake assessments;
  • Provide personalized support coordination services that promote choice and control for individuals with disabilities;
  • Support individuals in accessing NDIS and other disability services;
  • Respond to service requests from NDIS, create service bookings, and make claims through the provider portal;
  • Perform administrative tasks as required;
  • Comply with NDIS Code of Conduct and WHS Regulations and Guidelines;

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience;
  • Good command of spoken and written English;
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation on NDIS, SDA, SIL, and accommodation services;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Ability to work as a team and independently;
  • Holding valid police check certificate;
  • Will to undergo NDIS Worker Screening Check prior to employment;
  • Holding valid Driver's Licence and own a fully insured vehicle;
  • Having at least two doses of COVID-19 Vaccination;

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Education, Leisure and Recreation, Welfare, Management, Disability, or related disciplines;
  • Able to speak a community language;
  • Willingness to travel across different Sydney metropolitan areas to meet prospective customers;
