We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our Maintenance Team at Vales Point Power Station. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for performing high-quality maintenance on plant and equipment, leading and mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the improvement of our maintenance processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on large, complex plant systems.
  • Lead, mentor, and share knowledge with apprentices and other team members.
  • Work closely with contract teams when needed, such as belt splicing professionals, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Develop and conduct task-based risk assessments to keep safety at the forefront.
  • Manage work orders in our WMS system from start to finish.
  • Apply for and receive Permits to Work – you'll hold the necessary certifications for this.
  • Lead small teams as needed and guide them through day-to-day tasks.
  • Assess plant conditions, recommend improvements, and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency.
  • Help review and improve our maintenance processes to ensure they're always running at their best.

About You:

  • You are a qualified Mechanical Fitter with real-world experience since completing your apprenticeship and obtaining your trade certificate.
  • You bring in-depth knowledge of modern power stations or other heavy industry and have an interest in working with large process plant.
  • You are an analytical problem-solver and ensure precision and accuracy in everything you do.
  • You're someone who enjoys working with people, applying your expertise, and adapting to change.
  • You thrive in high-pressure environments, delivering top-notch results efficiently and on time.
