Exciting Part-Time Driver Opportunity

About the Role

This part-time driving position involves operating a bus or vehicle one day a week, with potential for additional shifts as needed. As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for safely transporting clients to and from our facility and scheduled appointments or outings.

The ideal candidate will have a valid LR1 driver's license in NSW, excellent communication skills, and a friendly attitude. Fluency in Arabic is essential, and previous experience as a driver in a community or aged care setting is preferred. A clean driving record and commitment to passenger safety are also essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely Operate a Vehicle: Safely operate a small bus or vehicle in accordance with NSW road laws and safety policies.
  • Transport Clients: Transport clients to and from the facility and scheduled appointments or outings.
  • Assist Passengers: Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Maintain Vehicle: Perform basic vehicle checks before each shift and report any maintenance needs.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate clearly and respectfully with clients many of whom are Arabic-speaking.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate transport records and follow assigned route schedules.
  • Cleanliness: Ensure a clean and hygienic vehicle environment at all times.
Requirements:
  • Licensing: Valid LR1 driver's license in NSW (Essential).
  • Language Skills: Fluent in Arabic - spoken and understood (Essential).
  • Experience: Previous experience as a driver in a similar community or aged care setting (preferred).
  • Driving Record: Excellent driving record with a commitment to passenger safety.
  • Attitude: Friendly and respectful attitude with strong communication skills.
  • Ability: Ability to assist elderly or mobility-impaired passengers with care.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
  • Working Rights: Full working rights in Australia.
  • Criminal Checks: Working with Children Check and/or Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
