Rheinmetall Defence Australia Pty Ltd, a leading defence technology company based in Brisbane, is seeking an experienced Water Jet Operator to join their production team.

As a Water Jet Operator, you will play a critical role in the production of various protection elements, including those used for the L400 Phase 2 Boxer Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle assembly process onsite at MILVEHCOE.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working with waterjet cutters, laser cutters, or CNC machines, and a relevant trade qualification or equivalent (including Machine Operation, Tool Making, Hydraulic). Experience in CNC programming and nesting, forklift ticket, and experience working in a production or assembly environment are also highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years' experience running Waterjet or Laser cutters and be willing to be trained on cutting equipment and cross-trained on other Armour Shop equipment. An Australian citizen with the ability to gain an Australia Defence Security Clearance is also required.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.

The successful candidate will work within the Armour Shop, assisting with the waterjet cutting process, ensuring all aspects of the successful operation of that production capability. They will be responsible for completing planned production work, assisting with operation of the Armour Shop waterjet cutting machinery, creating and updating cutting machine programmes, maintaining the cutting process work area, conducting in-process quality assurance checks, and completing work documents and systems.
