About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our client's team in their machine shop. The ideal candidate will have a trade qualification in Fitting and Machining or equivalent, and experience working with automated machinery and engineering measurement tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand technical drawings, specifications, and supplier catalogues
  • Accurately use Ball Gauges and Micrometres
  • Communicate effectively with internal staff and maintain working relationships
  • Follow written and verbal instructions, and work independently with minimal direction
  • Work in a team-based environment and demonstrate initiative to achieve quality outcomes

Requirements:

  • Trade Qualification in Fitting and Machining or equivalent (desirable)
  • Forklift licence
  • Experience using automated machinery (CNC operated machines)
  • Experience using engineering measurement tools (micrometres, dial indicators etc.)
  • Safe, accurate, and efficient use of hand tools and general workshop equipment
  • Adhering to safe work practices
  • Overhead crane use – knowledge of load limits and correct load practices

What We Offer:

  • $30-$40 per hour + 17.5% per week tool allowance
  • Full-time permanent role
  • Monday to Friday hours with opportunity for overtime
