We are seeking a seasoned Senior Technical Lead to join our Corporate Technical team at Gold Fields, a dynamic and international organisation. This role has been created to leverage the global nature and impact of our business.

About the Role:

The Senior Technical Lead will play a pivotal part in developing and evaluating technically viable and sustainable solutions for strategic projects within the Group. Key responsibilities include managing operational and site-based initiatives, focusing on early-stage scoping and concept studies that align with our strategic and business planning objectives, ESG targets, and future open pit project progression stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct prefeasibility and feasibility studies across the Group, ensuring consistent technical and financial evaluations;
  • Develop and evaluate sustainable solutions for operational and strategic projects;
  • Lead early-stage scoping and concept studies to inform strategic decision-making predominantly within open pits;
  • Collaborate closely with internal resources and external consultants to leverage expertise and insights for project execution;
  • Foster a collaborative environment to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of project delivery;

About You:

  • Proven senior leadership experience in open-pit mining with a strong background in studies and project management;
  • Relevant degree in mining engineering or a related discipline;
  • Strong track record in managing prefeasibility and feasibility studies, demonstrating solid understanding of technical and financial evaluation methods;
  • Demonstrated experience with Resource & Reserves estimate process;
  • Technical expertise in mining processes, project management methodologies, and sustainable practices;
  • Proficiency in XERAS ,Deswik, Whittle;
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities;
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team;
  • Strong organisational skills with capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously;

Salary Information:

The estimated annual salary for this role is between $120,000 - $180,000 AUD, depending on location and experience. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, flexible work arrangements, and professional development opportunities.
