Job Title: Asst Fleet Engineering Manager

This role is centered around promoting sustainable waste management practices and reducing the UK carbon footprint by optimizing our fleet of vehicles. We are seeking a dedicated professional to take pride in their work and ensure compliance with regulations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain legal compliance of the fleet, planning and implementing strategies for effective management.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver vehicle operating cost reductions and improve efficiency.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with operator license obligations and DVSA regulations.
  • Identify, implement, and maintain company policies related to LGV/HGV maintenance.
  • Liaise with depot managers to provide fleet support and instruct operational staff on necessary fleet issues.
  • Establish, manage, and control a balanced HGV/LGV annual test program to achieve maximum first-time pass rates.
  • Assist with vehicle taxation, MOTs, servicing, insurance, and monitoring vehicle camera and tracking systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate high levels of service and professionalism to customers.
  • Take initiative and proactively manage time and activities to ensure efficiency and output.
  • Prior experience in fleet management or an automotive mechanical engineering background.
  • Competence in PC-based fleet management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Able to communicate clearly both written and verbally at all levels.
  • A full UK driving license.
