Operations Manager (Warehouse and Logistics)

The Operations Manager (Warehouse and Logistics) will be responsible for overseeing all warehouse and logistics operations to drive continuous improvement. The successful candidate will ensure that activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

• Lead and support a high-performing warehousing and logistics team
• Ensure a safe, secure, and compliant working environment
• Develop and enforce clear policies, procedures, and documented practices
• Maintain team capability through training, development, and succession planning
• Oversee all warehousing functions including receipt, storage, distribution, and equipment maintenance
• Deliver excellent customer service through timely order fulfilment and clear communication
• Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives while managing operational risks

• Manage inventory control, stockroom organisation, and warehouse workflow
• Supervise receiving, inspecting, and storing goods as well as issuing and delivering materials
• Plan and coordinate logistics, transportation, and supply chain activities
• Monitor and improve quality standards, adhering to relevant health and safety regulations
• Establish effective performance metrics and reporting systems
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders on key performance indicators, reports, and decisions

• 7+ years relevant Supply Chain, Warehousing and logistics experience within a shipbuilding/sustainment, engineering, manufacturing or Defence organisation
• Strong understanding and working experience in a computerised ERP environment
• Strong leader and coach, with excellent communication, interpersonal and people management skills
• Strong customer focus
• Forklift License
