DNV Maritime Region Southeast Asia, Pacific & India is seeking a highly skilled Principal Newbuilding Surveyor to join our Hobart office on a full-time basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing class services to shipyards and certifying materials and components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct surveys of vessels during the new construction stage to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage projects related to new building vessels, ensuring timely completion and quality standards.
- Certify materials and components manufactured by local Hobart industries, ensuring they meet DNV's quality and safety standards.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local clients, providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Provide technical assistance to both internal and external stakeholders as needed.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with DNV's rules, regulations, and quality requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of clients' business information and processes.
- Communicate any important information to line management promptly.
- Supervise the work of others, ensuring it is carried out efficiently and economically.
- Act as a technical resource for customer questions, promoting DNV's services and expertise.

Position Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Experience as a project manager on complex vessels.
- Strong customer service orientation and technical competencies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility in traveling and physical abilities necessary for regular job functions.
- Fluency in English (speaking and writing).
