Role Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a General Practitioner in Townsville, Australia.

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate GP to provide high-quality clinical care to our patients.

  1. Provide exceptional patient care, demonstrating high quality clinical skills and using professional clinical judgement in the delivery of rural general practice.

  2. Evaluate and apply medical interventions consistent with evidence-based medicine, recognising and managing deteriorating patients safely and effectively.

  3. Demonstrate knowledge of common therapeutic agents, uses, dosages, adverse effects and potential drug interactions, and prescribe safely.

  4. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with patients and their families and other members of the health care team, clearly documenting patient care and maintaining complete and timely medical records/progress reports.

  5. Show compassion for patients and sensitivity to their culture, ethnicity and spiritual issues, exhibiting high standards of moral and ethical behaviour towards patients, families and colleagues.

Requirements
  • A supportive and collegial work atmosphere, with peer support and a fully equipped, established medical practice.
  • An established patient base and a practice that is constantly growing.
  • Flexibility in hours, with a range of shifts available.
  • Ongoing Continuing Professional Development opportunities.

Candidates must be registered with AHPRA and have Fellowship with either the RACGP or ACRRM.
