Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Utility Meter Reader to join our team in Melbourne City and Western suburbs area. As a Utility Meter Reader, you will be responsible for walking allocated neighbourhoods, taking and recording utility meter readings, and upholding the Service Stream safety standards.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors in the community, supporting a fit, healthy, and active lifestyle. No experience is required, as we will provide all necessary training and PPE. You will work independently, but also collaborate with other team members to achieve targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately read allocated meter routes in a timely, efficient, and safe manner
• Uphold the Service Stream safety standards and publicly represent Service Stream and our clients in a professional manner
• Understand and ensure targets are met
• Ability to work independently but also work with other members of the team
• Regularly communicate with office support team
• Upload/download route information to/from hand-held device

Requirements

• Current valid drivers licence
• Reliable motor vehicle and mobile phone
• Ready to learn and able to work on your own
• Able to undertake plenty of walking, bending, and squatting
• Able to work in most weather conditions
• Able to work Mon-Fri, 30-38 hours per week
• Flexible and comfortable with daily travel of up to, or more than 45 minutes each way
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and good attention to detail is required
