Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Android Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at Oracle. As an Android QA Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of new frameworks and services.

About the Role:

  • You will work with a team of software and QA engineers responsible for the complete Software Development Life Cycle and operations of our new frameworks and services.
  • You will analyze technical assessments of new features and identify the scope of work/dependencies for test requirements.
  • You will design, implement, execute, and maintain test cases on different devices and platforms.
  • You will provide technical guidance in identifying automation targets and designing white box test scenarios, participate in design reviews, and recommend improvements.
  • You will assist in troubleshooting and debugging code to find the root cause of issues and provide detailed information to the development team.
  • You will conduct advanced static and dynamic code analysis to identify potential performance bottlenecks.
  • You will lead performance benchmark testing initiatives for mobile applications to ensure optimal application performance.
  • You will work with cross-functional stakeholders in creating and executing test plans.
  • You will prepare time estimates of all QA options and other project requirements.
  • You will identify opportunities to adopt innovative technologies and incorporate them into the team's software test operational processes.
  • You will promote established processes across the team as well as seek opportunities to streamline and improve on them.
  • You will mentor junior QA staff in advanced testing techniques and coding practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with the Android platform and understanding of Kotlin language.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in software test engineering including both white-box and black-box test methodologies.
  • Expert knowledge of the mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Software Quality Assurance concepts, best practices, and procedures.
  • Good knowledge of any scripting language preferably Python.
  • Expertise in Software Test Automation Framework.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Kotlin, with a proven track record of testing Android applications leveraging performance, scalability, and user experience.
  • Expert in performance metrics and identifying/implementing optimizations for mobile applications.
  • Analyze and identify code for efficiency, reliability, and performance.
  • Proficient with code versioning tools, particularly git.
  • Experience working with defect tracking tools such as JIRA is required.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with global stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in testing/validating SDK will be a big plus.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies will be a plus.

Estimated Salary Range:

$120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
