Industrial Light & Magic is a global leader in the visual effects industry, providing groundbreaking work for the most epic films and television shows. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Visual Effects Supervisor to lead our model team.

About the Role

The Visual Effects Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the creation of high-quality 3D models for film and television productions. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as expertise in 3D modeling software such as Maya and Zeno.

We estimate this role will pay between $120,000 to $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of artists to create high-quality 3D models for film and television productions
  • Oversee the quality control and delivery of models, ensuring they meet the required standards
  • Collaborate with VFX Supervisors, CG Supervisors, and Heads of Department to assess technical feasibility and implement production-friendly workflows
  • Bid on projects and drive the overall modeling schedule, balancing artistic and productivity requirements
  • Be aware of the impact of creative decisions on the project's schedule and budget
  • Know the limitations of their knowledge and seek expert advice when necessary
  • Attend show production and team meetings to promote effective communication
Requirements
  • Proven leadership and problem-solving abilities
  • Expertise in Maya and Zeno, as well as other 3D modeling software
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Bidding and scheduling experience preferred
  • Experience as a lead on 4+ shows
  • Proficiency in LINUX/UNIX
  • A creative and critical eye for guiding the quality of the asset
