We are undertaking the development of a 280-hectare pistachio orchard, alongside our existing 220-hectare property, 15km from Robinvale, Victoria.

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established farm with a growing team as a full-time Orchard Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day orchard operations by leading a team of workers and ensuring efficient and safe daily operations
  • Working closely with Maintenance and Irrigation Managers to maintain a productive and cohesive farming operation
  • Maintaining a full working knowledge of property systems, farm machinery, and all field operations
  • Planning, costing and reviewing all aspects of orchard operations
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in a senior orchard management role
  • Excellent technical knowledge of orchard management practices and seasonal programs
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of orchard machinery
  • Proven commercial acumen with proficiency in Microsoft programs and other relevant software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a high quality of work
