Speech Therapy Specialist

The role of a Speech Therapy Specialist is to work with children aged 0-10 years and their families, providing therapy sessions in various settings.

Job Description

This full-time position involves working as part of a transdisciplinary team with other Allied Health professionals. You will provide high-quality services, integrating the developmental and therapeutic needs of children, to increase their meaningful participation in daily life.

Therapy sessions vary between a client's home, in clinic or community. You will also be required to develop rapport and positive working relationships with stakeholders and families from a broad range of social and cultural backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualised therapy plans for children with communication and swallowing disorders
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic support to children and families
  • Conduct assessments and develop reports to identify areas of strength and need
  • Provide education and training to parents and caregivers on communication strategies and techniques
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required by best practice policies and procedures
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Eligible membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA)
  • A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to develop rapport and positive working relationships with stakeholders and families from a broad range of social and cultural backgrounds
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Please note that all staff are required to hold a WWCC and be able to provide a satisfactory National/International Criminal History Check and NDIS Screening Clearance prior to employment.
