We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team.

Job Description

The role will be responsible for performing preventative and breakdown maintenance across the plant in a safe, cost-effective and efficient manner.

  1. Carry out all site maintenance and corrective tasks to ensure reliability of plant and equipment.
  2. Plan own maintenance activities without supervision.
  3. FOLLOW SAFE WORK PRACTICES AT ALL TIMES.
  4. Promptly attend breakdowns and resolve operational or technical problems to minimize business interruptions resulting from equipment breakdowns/failures.
  5. Provide trouble-shooting expertise as required.
  6. Perform modification work as well as general facility maintenance.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Timely/effective closeout of all work orders supported by relevant feedback, information and other reports as required.
  • Participating in projects as directed.
  • Actively participating in the development & implementation of modern maintenance, reliability systems and practices.
  • Supervising apprentices as required.
  • Providing reasonable support/supervision outside of normal working hours as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will require:

  • A trade qualification in fitter or equivalent.
  • Knowledge & experience in safe working practices/procedures.
  • Ability to understand technical drawings.
  • Reliable, self-motivated and able to work unsupervised in a team environment.
  • Team player, trustworthy and great work ethic.
