About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Legal People as a Senior Legal Advisor, working closely with the General Manager, Legal - Corporate. As a trusted advisor, you will provide strategic legal input into business decisions and advise on a wide range of commercial, compliance, and regulatory issues that impact organisational operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, commercially astute, and timely advice across a broad range of issues, with a focus on drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including intellectual property management, IT services, and procurement support.
  • Conduct thorough legal research, drafting, and reviewing contracts, negotiating deals, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop standards, template agreements, playbooks, and other educational resources to educate internal stakeholders on relevant legal issues.
  • Assist the General Manager with briefing and coordinating external legal advisors, monitoring the quality, value, and timeliness of services provided.
  • Support, guidance, and technical assistance for more junior members of the legal team.

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced Commercial (transactional) Lawyer with a background in private practice and in-house experience. Ideal candidates will have:

7+ years PQE as a transactional (commercial) lawyer, including experience in handling complex transactions.Experience working in a regulated environment is ideal.Experience with technology/IT contracts and service agreements is ideal.Ability to focus on pragmatic implementations and legal principles in a corporate environment.Attention to detail to ensure that all procedural requirements are met in accordance with key regulations/legislation.Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills - able to establish and maintain strong working relationships.Highly developed, effective prioritisation skills - to manage competing priorities.
