About This Role

We are seeking a seasoned Grounds and Maintenance Supervisor to lead our team in creating beautiful outdoor spaces that bring joy to our residents and their families. If you have a passion for gardening, leadership skills, and take pride in your work, this role may be perfect for you.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Champion the upkeep of gardens, outdoor areas, and communal spaces to ensure they remain clean, welcoming, and safe
  • Lead and mentor a team of maintenance staff with vision and purpose
  • Develop and implement hands-on gardening, grounds, and general maintenance tasks
  • Respond to resident requests and safety issues with care and efficiency
  • Maintain tools and equipment with attention and care
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in garden or grounds maintenance
  • Proven ability to lead a small team and set daily priorities
  • A customer-first mindset and excellent communication skills
  • Good physical fitness – you'll be hands-on and outdoors
  • Comfort using basic digital tools (email, calendars, job tracking systems)
Bonus Skills
  • Previous experience in retirement living, schools, or public grounds
  • A valid driver's licence (bonus if you can drive a 12-seater bus)
  • Your Higher School Certificate or similar qualification
