This is a challenging role that requires strong leadership and organizational skills. As a Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of our warehouse team, ensuring efficient storage, picking, and packing of goods.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role in a multi-site FMCG environment, with expertise in cold environments. They will also possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage raw material operations in and out of chillers/freezers, ensuring compliance with company rules, safety procedures, and HACCP standards.
- Monitor stock and capacity levels within the chiller and freezer to optimize efficiency.
- Identify data issues within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) affecting the pick operation and report to the Operations Manager.
- Maintain the warehouse in a clean and tidy condition, reporting any damages or breakdowns promptly.
- Control orders to ensure priority is maintained, liaising closely with despatch and production teams.
- Conduct regular walk-throughs of the dock, chiller, and freezer floor at the start and end of each shift.
- Be actively involved in regular area inspections and internal/external audits.
- Oversee floor staff resources, discipline, absence management, and overtime requirements.
- Complete End of Shift reports and forward to the relevant team within agreed timeframes.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Previous experience in a similar role in a multi-site FMCG environment.
- Experience supervising a complex warehouse or team, with particular expertise in cold environments.
- An understanding of the transport industry and relevant legislation and safety concerns.
- Relevant Import and Export Accreditation is an advantage.
- Strong abilities in managing transport & distribution (Logistic & Storage Management) processes.
- Proficient use of DC systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
