Job Overview:

Firesoft People is seeking a highly skilled Lead Trader to join our Sydney office. As a key member of our trading team, you will be responsible for driving profitability and creating value through the development and execution of proven trading strategies.

Salary:

$150,000 - $200,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trading Strategy Development: Develop and implement profitable trading strategies across energy markets, leveraging your expertise and experience to drive success.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a high-performing team of traders, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture.
  • Market Analysis: Stay up-to-date with market trends and developments in the energy sector, utilizing this knowledge to identify trading opportunities and make informed decisions.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with counterparties, brokers, and other market participants to enhance trading capabilities and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Communication: Utilize excellent communication skills to effectively present trading ideas, strategies, and performance reports to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Risk Management: Collaborate with the risk management team to ensure seamless execution of trades and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a trader in energy markets.
  • Success Metrics: Demonstrated success in developing and executing profitable trading strategies, with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex trading concepts and strategies clearly.
  • Analysis: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for identifying market opportunities and managing risks.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field (advanced degrees are a plus).
