Speech Pathologist Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Pathologist to deliver high-quality services in the Gympie region. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in improving the lives of individuals with communication disorders and swallowing difficulties.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs and goals.
  • Provide therapy sessions to help patients improve their communication skills and overcome challenges.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for NDIS participants.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, progress notes, and reports.
  • Educate and support families and caregivers on communication strategies and techniques.
  • Stay updated on the latest research and evidence-based practices in speech pathology.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of our services.
  • Manage caseloads effectively and meet NDIS reporting requirements.
Key Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited institution is required.

  • Current registration with Speech Pathology Australia is mandatory.
  • Good knowledge of speech and language development, communication disorders, and treatment approaches is necessary.
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations, including children and adults with disabilities, is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and its processes is essential.
  • Excellent assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills are required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective patient interaction and report writing are necessary.
  • Proficiency in using assistive communication technologies and devices is desired.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team is essential.
