We are currently partnering with a family-owned business that offers comprehensive construction and maintenance services across the entire building life cycle in South Australia. Their portfolio includes minor maintenance work to large-scale, multi-million-dollar construction initiatives.

The Role: Workplace Health and Safety Advisor

As a key member of the team, you will drive positive health and safety change in the workplace. Your responsibilities include advising leaders and workers on health and safety matters, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and guidelines. You will also facilitate audits, lead site visits, and incident investigations. Additionally, you will be involved in developing high-quality documents and training material, managing WHS projects, and performing peer reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote a continuous improvement culture and implement best practice management systems in the workplace.
  • Monitor daily site tasks and provide advice on risks and controls.
  • Ensure compliance with all company procedures, regulatory, and legislative requirements for Health and Safety.
  • Provide OHS induction and training to all employees and subcontractors.
  • Manage Subcontractor compliance.
  • Undertake audits to verify compliance.
  • Investigate any injuries, incidents, and near misses, recommending corrective actions.
  • Co-ordinate return to work activities.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships internally and externally.
  • Degree, Diploma, or similar qualification, and current membership of a relevant professional institution.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, communication, and organizational skills, along with the ability to positively influence improved Health and Safety outcomes.

Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
