We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Science Education to lead our Science Department. The successful candidate will have a strong background in science education, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive innovation and improvement in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Science Department: Develop and implement a comprehensive science education strategy that aligns with the Australian Curriculum and meets the needs of our students.
  • Drive Innovation and Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based solutions to enhance teaching and learning in science.
  • Mentor and Coach Teachers: Provide guidance and support to teachers to improve their pedagogy and enhance student outcomes.
  • Develop and Implement Curriculum: Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement a comprehensive science curriculum that meets the needs of our students.
  • Manage Resources: Effectively manage the human, financial, and facilities resources of the Science Department to achieve goals.
  • Embed Socially Just Practices: Embed socially just practices in daily school life and promote a culture of inclusivity and respect.
  • Participate in Lifelong Learning: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in science education.

Requirements:

  • Strong Background in Science Education: A strong background in science education, including a deep understanding of the Australian Curriculum and the science education sector.
  • Excellent Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire teachers and students.
  • Ability to Drive Innovation and Improvement: The ability to identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based solutions to enhance teaching and learning in science.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with teachers, students, and parents.
