Apprentice Boilermaker Role

Unlock Your Potential in Boilermaking

This apprenticeship is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge required to succeed as a boilermaker. You will be working alongside experienced tradespeople to complete your Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication (Boilermaking).

As an apprentice boilermaker, you will gain hands-on experience in a modern, well-equipped workshop with a positive team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret detailed drawings to calculate material and equipment requirements
  • Fitting and assembling metal fixtures
  • Cutting, rolling, shaping, and bending materials
  • Heating and treating metal materials
  • Operating MIG, submerged arc, oxy, and other welding equipment
  • Using oxy/gas cutting equipment (straight line, profile, multihead)
  • Utilizing friction saws, grinders (hand and pedestal), air arc gouges, and a range of portable hand tools

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A strong mathematical ability and high attention to detail are essential for this role
  • Effective learning and communication skills, along with a positive attitude, are necessary for success
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and follow instructions is crucial
  • A basic understanding of hand power tool operations is required
  • Fault finding and problem-solving abilities are also important
  • Good presentation, enthusiasm, reliability, and punctuality are expected
  • A Certificate II in Engineering Pathways is advantageous
  • Reliable transportation to work, car, and license are preferred
