Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Buildings and Places team in Canberra. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical engineering projects across various sectors, including data centers, defense, commercial, education, and health.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with a team of multi-disciplinary engineers to drive quality and deliver projects on time.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide technical advice and guidance.
- Prepare technical designs that are cost-effective and meet project requirements.
- Lead electrical design and project delivery for major client projects, including technical review and management of small project teams.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers in preparing technical design documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Degree.
- 5-10+ years' experience working for a building services consultancy.
- Proven record in technical design and project delivery, with a focus on client relationships.
- Necessary qualifications to obtain registration in the ACT and other jurisdictions (e.g. CPEng and/or NER credentials).
- Experience in leading small and large teams, managing project teams, deliverables, budgets, and schedules.
- Excellent communication and people skills, with a passion for mentoring and training younger engineers.
- Drive innovation and efficiency improvements within the team.
- Experience working in electrical services design, including lighting, general and specialist power, earthing/lightning protection, and power distribution and reticulation.
- Excellent communication skills, with leadership qualities and aspirations to grow with AECOM.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software, including AutoCAD, PowerCAD, Revit, MS Office, and AGI32.
